Self Realization is the awakening
of the Kundalini through the central channel, piercing through the six
chakras above the sacrum bone and emerging at the top of the head (fontanel
bone area) as a gentle "fountain" of coolness. The word fontanelle
itself means "little fountain" which shows again the ancient
knowledge about this phenomenon of Self Realization.
Self Realization has always been the ultimate goal of all religions and
spiritual traditions of the world, but was extremely difficult to attain in
the past. It has now become a mass phenomenon achieved effortlessly through
Sahaja Yoga, which is Shri Mataji's invaluable gift to humanity.
In Shri Mataji's own words,
"Self Realization is the first encounter with Reality". "We have
the Mother within ourselves, in our hearts, and if She is awakened, She is
going to look after us. She is going to give all the protection that is needed.
And there is nothing to be frightened of anything."
"Kundalini cures you, she
improves you, she bestows all the blissful things upon you. She takes you away
from the worries of the grosser level", says Shri Mataji.
The manifestation of the Kundalini
energy is called vibrations , which is an approximate translation
of the Sanskrit term Chaitanya. In Shri Mataji's words, "Chaitanya
(vibrations) is the integrated force of your physiological, mental, emotional
and religious Selves."
The Significance Of Self-Realisation
In a very simple term the
Self-Realization is like returning of man to his real Home – establishing of
oneself in one’s true nature, which is not outside but inside the man. The
self- realization is nothing but return to one’s own true HOME, home which is
full of harmony, balance, equanimity, Peacefulness. It is a state of one’s
being without reference to the ‘other’. It is a state of FREEDOM (liberation) –
a freedom from pain and suffering, fears, duality’s, tensions of life. It is a
freedom not simply ‘to do’ but to be free from ego and attachments to baser
things. It is a calm, stressfree, quiet and balanced mental state.
This Self-Realization is our second
birth, and it frees us from the domination of our minds and our emotions. The
Self-Realization called by many names: Second Birth, Enlightenment, Liberation,
Moksha and it is the ultimate goal of all religions and spiritual traditions of
the world.
Self - Realized person possesses
body and lives in the world itself. He uses material world legitimately, for
comfort and convenience not for ego satisfaction but for self-enrichment and
realization. He lives in the world but he is above it, he is not of it. Now he
is free from fear of loss and anxiety, from attachments and hatredness and he
becomes very joyous and loving personality. Self-Realized person fully enjoys
the state of connection with the divine. After Self-Realization where he/she
put his/her attention, the divine removes obstacles and creates miracles. There
is much more. You also develop "collective consciousness". You can
feel everything about another human being, and about yourself. Your compassion
is awakened, and you understand others at a fundamental level. The results are
evident in beautiful, loving people with alert minds and open, loving hearts.
The potential to achieve this state is built into every human being in the form
of Kundalini.
This knowledge of self-Realization
is ancient, but for a long time it was available only to a few souls, being
kept secret and transmitted from guru to disciple, since Self Realization was
extremely difficult to achieve. In these modern times, through Sahaja
("spontaneous") Yoga ("union with one's Self"), to achieve
the self-Realization has become effortless and available to everyone, for the
first time in the history of human spirituality, which is Shri Mataji's
invaluable gift to humanity. This transformation comes about when a subtle
energy called Kundalini is awakened and rises within us to establish our Yoga,
or Union, with the primordial energy.
